Freelance Proofreader

Short Description:

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Company, one of America's leading publishers of fiction and nonfiction, is currently looking for freelance proofreaders to join our trade division.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Company Trade Division is looking for experienced trade book proofreaders to expand our freelance pool. Proofreaders with experience in history, science, sports a plus.

Required Experience:

Trade book experience required. Must have complete working knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style (15th ed.) and the American Heritage Dictionary (4th ed.). Must have a meticulous eye and good editorial judgment. Must be able to meet deadlines.

Salary/Hours:

This is not an in-house position. Work is on a freelance, off-site basis only. Assignments are not guaranteed.
